What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
Aix-Marseille University is a well-established university with several research facilities.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
I would recommend this university to other interns, everyone was helpful abd worked for easing the process.
What is student life like at university?
I did not contribute to the student activities
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
I used English for communication and it was adequent, however it is always helpful to know some French

What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
Marseille is a big cosmopolitan and pretty busy. The city is full of beautiful landscapes and historical places, I was amazed by the beauty of the city and I would like to visit again as a tourist. Calanques are mesmerizing and I would recommend everyone to take a boat tour or a hiking tour to discover that part of the city.

In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
Generally prices are higher than Czech Republic, my scholarship was adequate, but I did not have too much to spend for example. For a student accomodation rent and eating at home, the scholarship was adequate.
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
Eating and drinking outside is pretty expensive in Marseille compared to Prague. I would recommend limiting eating and drinking outside and get food from supermarkets.

What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
Private apartments would be too expensive and I do not think the scholarship would cover for this. I stayed at a dormitory, I would recommend dormitories or shared rooms.

Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
Yes I traveled inside the country, I would recommend being careful in big cities like Marseille and Paris while travelling.
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
I know French so it was not a problem for me, but I made progress in French during my stay,

Why here? What makes this location special? Why would you send your friends to your country/city?
I think Marseille is an amazing city and its culture is quite different from North France. The group I went to work with is one of the best research labs in the field and my first priority was to work with this lab. I would definitely recommend to visit Marseille
