Call for Applications: The Future Leaders of Europe / Europaeum Scholars Programme
The Future Leaders of Europe: Europaeum Scholars’ Programme offers a unique opportunity to be part of a network of some of the brightest people of your generation. You will be able to connect your doctoral research with the world of policy making, to draw on the combined resources of eighteen Europe’s leading universities, to learn how to work as a team (and what leading a team involves), and to understand the complexity of policy making.
About the course:
- participants attend six modules and a conference over two years while studying for their existing doctoral degrees
- for the most talented, energetic and committed doctoral candidates from within the Europaeum network – the people who will make a difference to Europe
- multi-disciplinary, multi-university, and multi-locational and focuses on contemporary European policy
- entry via open competition for around 30 places every other year
- it is the flagship programme of the Europaeum
- aim of the Programme is to engage academic thinking with policy making and to produce a new generation of leaders, thinkers, and researchers with the capacity to meet the cultural, political and societal challenges facing Europe today
Each scholar is fully funded by a scholarship, that covers full accommodation, food, and lectures, but does not provide a stipend.
A maximum of 30 places are available.
What the course offers:
- Learn how to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
- Develop key leadership skills for success in the public or private sectors
- Network with scholars and academics from leading European universities and a wide variety of non-academic stakeholders
- Hear from a range of professionals involved in shaping policy in Europe
- Visit key EU and international institutions
- Develop professional skills working with the best professional trainers
- Stand out in the increasingly saturated job market for graduates
Applicants must be:
- enrolled on a doctoral programme at one of the participating Europaeum universities
- pursuing research related to Europe (broadly defined) in the Humanities or Social Sciences OR have very strong extra-curricular interests in European affairs

- two academic references (one of which should be from the applicant’s supervisor)

Call for Scholarships: International Summer School at Universidade da Coruña
The programme offers 12 scholarships to increase the international diversity of students participating in its International Summer School. These scholarships will be assigned to students with outstanding potential coming from highly underrepresented low-income, lower-middle income or upper-middle income countries, divided according to GNI per capita, calculated using the World Bank Atlas method.
These scholarships cover a course's tuition fees, accommodation and meals in a student hall of residence during ISS period (12th and 25th July included). Please note, that flights must be paid by the participants themselves.
Application procedure:
- Ticking the appropriate box in the student APPLICATION FORM.
- Providing a video presentation.
Instructions for video presentation:
- You must record a short video in English (around 1-2 minutes) stating the reasons why you would like to participate in Universidade da Coruña's International Summer School and how that fits with your background and future prospects.
- Name it as Your name surname_ ISS2026_UDC, ( i.e. Daniel García_ISS2026_UDC)
- Post it on Youtube and paste or type the link (i.e.: https://youtu.be/lbFLiYbZ-Rc) on the corresponding box of your application.
This would be close to a personal interview and give us an idea about your motivation and communication skills in English. If your application is selected this short video will also be used by UDC in order to promote the International Summer School.

Centre for European Studies (CEPS) Ideas Lab 2026

The major annual conference of the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) – the CEPS Ideas Lab – brings together policy-makers, researchers, business leaders and civil society to debate the major challenges and opportunities facing Europeans, in a series of open, forward-looking and interdisciplinary exchanges. Speakers include European Commissioners, MEPs, EU Ambassadors, think tankers and academics, and business and NGO leaders from across Europe and beyond.
Applications are invited from Master’s and Doctorate students at Charles University in all relevant disciplines, who would like to attend this event. Reasonable travel expenses to and from Brussels, together with accommodation and board during event days will be covered for those selected to participate.

In an era of unprecedented global challenges and rapid transformation, effective leadership has never been more critical. The 2026 Europaeum Leadership Challenge will explore leadership in its multiple dimensions – examining contemporary leadership theories, practices, and challenges across different sectors and contexts. The programme will include discussions and opportunities to develop practical skills through experiential sessions with a world-class trainer.
We invite applications from Master’s and Doctorate students at Charles University in any discipline. Reasonable travel expenses to and from Berlin, together with accommodation and board during event days will be covered for those selected to participate.

The Europaeum Spring School 2026
University of Oxford | 13-15 April, 2026

The transatlantic relationship has long been a cornerstone of global politics, economics, and security. From the Marshall Plan and NATO’s founding to contemporary challenges of trade wars, climate cooperation, and digital governance, the partnership between Europe and North America continues to evolve in response to shifting geopolitical realities. Today, this relationship faces unprecedented tests.
We invite applications from Charles University Master’s and Doctorate students in relevant disciplines to attend and discuss this year’s Spring School topic. Students can join as a participant only and if they would like, also, present a 15-minute paper. For a detailed list of the topics, which we welcome papers on, please see our website.
Students, who are offered a place to attend this event will have reasonable travel expenses covered from Prague to Oxford and will be provided with free accommodation and board during event days. The group will be staying at an Oxford University college during this event.
