about university
What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
Everything is organized, available online and easily approachable. Studying is made easy. Administration is very nice and kind, so you can ask any questions without being judged.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
Teachers are much more relaxed and down to Earth, for example they don't like being addressed as ''sir'' and mostly don't use their titles. You are considered as equal and have a say in everything. You are allowed to make mistakes and are allowed much more freedom, because of great trust they have in you.
What is student life like at university?
There are a lot of student organisations and parties you can go to to meet people. Norway is very expensive for a foreign student, so make sure you have enough money. Everything about the city, culture, manners etc. is explained to you on your arrival.
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
English is used almost everywhere and even old people speak it. Everybody at University is absolutely fluent in English and other languages and there are a lot of foreign professors teaching in English.

about the city
What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
Museums are amazing, food is of high quality, it is very clean and much more quiet. People are more polite and welcoming. Drinking in public is not allowed and you have to respect the nature, city and people that live there. Anything beautiful is only 5 min away. Great hikes.
about finances
In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
Scholarship basically pays only the accommodation. Monthly bus ticket is ca 45euros, food can be found cheaper in cheaper supermarkets such as Kiwi and Rema 1000, discounts can be great. Restaurants are insanely expensive. Coffee is ca 6 euros. Try to make is as simple as possible.
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
Don't eat out, make your own food, use student discount whenever you can. Ask questions. If you get really hungry there is an app called Togoodtogo where you can reserve for a couple of euros leftovers from bakeries, restaurants, buffets etc.

about accommodation
What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
I had a private apartment with a friend, so it was a totally different story. We live outside of the city where the rent was still very high (ca 1000 euros). Student dorms are located in the center and student are generally happy with it.
about experiences
Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
Planes are connecting everything basically, trains are really nice and modern. Buses are not the most comfortable because of mountain roads but are very cheap.
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
People are very polite and relaxed. They don't like to talk about their achievements and boost their egos. Important thing is to enjoy life and nature. The whole ''americanized'' approach of being ''the boss in the room'', is actually frowned upon. You show your competence, rather than talk about it. Be humble and quiet.
final rating
Why here? What makes this location special? Why would you send your friends to your country/city?
It is a beautiful place that matched my personality and goals.
