about university
What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
I did my Erasmus+ internship in CEREGE, France. I helped the professor in laboratory experiments. They have a state of art paleomagnetic laboratory with very sensitive equipments.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
PhD students there have a scholarship. It is enough for living in Aix en Provence which is an expensive part of the country. The institute is one of the best in geology and geophysics fields worldwide. I strongly recommend students to have an Erasmus experience there.
What is student life like at university?
I had only two weeks stay there, that's why I can not say much about student activities. I only joined to a cinema actvity which was in the student dormitory.
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
I communicated in English and people will try to help you even though they do not know English.

about the city
What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
Aix en Provence is a small and luxury city. It's very close to Marseille airport which is 35 minutes by bus.
about finances
In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
My internship scholarhsip was exactly enough for travel tickets, student dormitory, food, etc. I did not spend too much money since I was alway in laboratory there. I also could stay in student dormitory. Otherwise the scholarship may have not been enough.
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
You should find a cheap accomodation to stay there which is possibe only in dormitory. Also some supermarkets are cheaper.

about accommodation
What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
I strongly suggest student dormitory which is the cheapest option there. Also it is a clean place.
about experiences
Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
It's possible to go to Marseille by flight and then take a 35 minutes bus to Aix en Provence.
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
I have learned some French words and it helped me to orient in the city.
final rating
Why here? What makes this location special? Why would you send your friends to your country/city?
CEREGE is one of the best institutions in the world. It was a great experience and prestigious to have an interhsip there.
