What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
Sciences Po Aix má hlavný campus v historickej budove priamo v centre mesta naproti katedrále. Budova je vybavená automatmi na jedlo a kávu, sú tu súkromné študovne, knižnica, a vnútorný aj vonkajší priestor na spoločné posedenie medzi prednáškami.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
Letný semester trval od polovice januára do začiatku apríla a mal iba 10 týždňov výučby. Po prvých 5 týždňoch sme mali týždeň prázdnin. Skúškové obdobie bolo iba 3-týždňové a trvalo od polovice mája do konca mája. Skúšky sú väčšinou v podobe esejí, no nelíšia sa veľmi od skúšok doma.
What is student life like at university?
Integrácia medzi domácich študentov nie je veľmi silná, no je tu veľa ESN (Erasmus student network – organizácia pre zahraničných študentov) podujatí, kde spoznáš práve študentov z celého sveta. Sciences Po ale ponúka veľa predmetov, v ktorých sa naučíš o kultúre Francúzska, či iných krajín.
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
Väčšina zahraničných študentov preferuje komunikovať v angličtine, a preto bol toto dominantný jazyk môjho pobytu. V bežnom živote však využiješ aj francúzštinu, samozrejme v obchodoch a podnikoch. Na Sciences Po sa zaobídeš aj bez znalosti francúzštiny, pretože ponúka veľa anglických predmetov a boli tu aj študenti, ktorí po francúzsky nevedeli.

Aix en Provence je malé pokojné no veľmi študentské mesto. Je tu veľa podnikov, kde môžeš tráviť večeri a ak ťa baví nočný život, nájdeš si tu svoje.

In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
Aix je žiaľ pomerne drahé mesto oproti ostatným na juhu Francúzska. Väčšie nákupy sa oplatí robiť vo väčších obchodoch mimo centra mesta. Štipendium ti vie pokryť značnú časť výdajov, ale ak máš v pláne cestovať, určite budeš potrebovať oveľa viac než len štipendium.

Crous je oficiálna francúzska platforma pre študentské ubytovanie. Sciences Po ponúka ubytovanie každému, kto si oň požiada. Izba je malá, no stačí a má vlastnú kúpeľňu a chladničku. Kuchyne sú zdieľané na každom poschodí, no v ubytovacom komplexe je aj menza a večer otvorená pizzeria. Ubytovanie je na svoju kvalitu veľmi lacné a určite odporúčam, pretože tu zažiješ pravý študentský život.

Osobne som sa nestretla so žiadnymi výraznými výzvami, ktoré by mi znepokojili pobyt, alebo by boli ťažko riešiteľné.

Aix en Provence sa nachádza na juhu Francúzska. Od Marseille je vzdialené 30 minút autobusom, takže môžeš kedykoľvek vystriedať pokojné tiché mestečko za veľkomesto, alebo si zajsť na pláž. Zároveň je veľmi jednoduché cestovať po celom pobreží, pretože verejná doprava je zväčša spoľahlivá a nestojí veľa peňazí.
