about university
What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
The university and the city is gorgeous. Also there are so many student activities and organizations
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
The classes themselves were pretty similar. The exams are very different however. You get your exam dates at the beginning of the semester and then it is very difficult to move them. Also the grades are out of 20 points, but I wouldn't say it's fully representative of what you actually know
What is student life like at university?
There is a lot of activities. However, I couldn't find accommodation in the city, so I couldn't really attend activities that were happening later when the buses stopped running
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
Everything was in English

about the city
What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
The city is very student-oriented, and usually quite calm. It definitely feels safe. The center was my favorite. Also some cafes
about finances
In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
It's pretty much impossible to get by on the scholarship. Within the city it won't even cover accommodation. Everything else is also expensive or at least more expensive than in the Czech Republic (food, transport etc.)
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
I haven't figured that out frankly

about accommodation
What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
I ended up finding a room in a family house in a city next to Leuven, which was quite nice, and definitely more affordable than in Leuven. The transport is quite inconvenient though, because the buses don't work very well and they don't function during the night
about experiences
Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
I would definitely recommend going everywhere possible with the train and the bus
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
I haven't noticed many differences. Maybe just that Belgian students seem to be quite shy and reserved compared to international ones. And language wasn't a problem as pretty much everyone speaks english
final rating
Why here? What makes this location special? Why would you send your friends to your country/city?
I would say that the quality of the lectures is quite high and the location is both gorgeous and safe

Before leaving, I would like to know that...
you couldn't decide on your own exam dates
What surprised me most was that...
The exams system
The hardest thing for me was...
