about university

What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
At Uppsala University, you will have very good lectures and a perfect atmosphere for studying.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
For the courses, we had to read a lot and be prepared for discussions.
For the final papers, the word count had always been more than 3000.

What is student life like at university?
It is necessary to join a nation. With the nation card, you are allowed to visit every student party. If you are interested, you can visit them regularly, and they have fair prices.
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
They set up separate courses for exchange students, meaning you will hang around most of the time with international students. Therefore, it is hard to meet locals.

about the city

What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
Besides studying, partying and walking around in flat forestry terrain, there is not much to do in Uppsala.

about finances

In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
Well, the price for the student accommodation was about 450€. I would recommend Flogsta because you will have some rats as housemates included for free ;) Groceries are the same price as in Prague, and if you are too lazy to cook, you can eat from Monday to Friday at the Nations for fair prices. (5-10€ per meal)
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
Eating self-made spaghetti and buying alcohol at Systembolaget will save you money :)
And buy a bike if you want to save 75€ per month for the bus ticket.

about accommodation

What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
https://housingoffice.se/
Student housing is the cheapest option. There are only private rooms, which have enough space but are very cold during winter. Most students use an electric heater, which is a cheap solution because you do not pay for electricity.

about experiences

Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
If you have the chance, travel up to the north. There are affordable options organised by the ESN club.
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
There are a lot of international students.

final rating

Why here? What makes this location special? Why would you send your friends to your country/city?
If you want to focus on studying, Uppsala is the perfect place, but if you are looking for a vibrant city, I would recommend going somewhere else.
