What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
Jsem zvykla, ze v Praze jsou fakulty rozmistene po celem meste. Uni Regensburg je jeden veliky kampus, v podstate takove mesto s 20.000 obyvateli, coz pro me byl novy zazitek a prislo mi to supeer. Mym velmi oblibenym mistem zde byla botanicka zahrada.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
Vyjela jsem na cely akademicky rok. Trosku prekvapivy je zacatek letniho semestru, ktery letos pripadl na polovinu dubna a tim padem bezela vyuka a zkouskove obdobi v cervenci.
Vyucujici byli casto velmi privetivi k mezinarodnim studentum a snazilise pomoci.
What is student life like at university?
Zivot na Uni je opravdu velmi pestry. Na podzim se nam vsechny spolky predstavily spolecne s chystanymi akcemi (International Office, ESN Regensburg, KHG, Sprachcafé,..). Nabidka je tak siroka, ze by clovek mohl vyrazet na akci skoro kazdy den. Oslovila me take siroka paleta nabizenych sportu. Lze take navstevovat jazykove kurzy (nejen NJ a AJ, nybrz i svedstina, holandstina, cinstina ci korejstina). Zapojila jsem se take do projektu Babylon - tedy skupina mezinarodnich studentu, kteri spolecne pripravi divadelni predstaveni v nemcine. Kazdy patek se lze zdarma ucastnit pozorovani nocni oblohy v mistni hvezdarne. Zkratka neni cas se nudit:)

Vyuka pro me byla predevsim v nemcine. Pokud chce clovek navstevovat kurzu i v anglictine, pozaduje pred tim International Office potvrzeni, ze ma clovek anglictinu alespon na urovni B2.

What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
Regensburg / Rezno je naprosto okouzlujici mesto. Krasne historicke centrum, Dunaj, mnoho zelene, vsude se da dojit pesky (pokud pochodujete tak radi jako ja). Stejne tak i velikostne mi prijde idealni - tak lagom, ani moc ani malo. Jsem nadsena!

In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
Hodne asi zalezi na cene ubytovani, ktere se pohybuji od 215 do cca. 680€.
Mile me prekvapily privetive ceny v mistni Mense.
V mem pripade stipendium pokrylo 100% nakladu.

Za me vede Netto! Nektere ceny potravin jsou vyrazne levnejsi nez u nas v Ceske republice (vyhodne nakupy s Netto appkou).

What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
International Office vzdy vsem zahranicnim studentum zajisti misto na koleji, pokud o to maji zajem. Vsecho tak bezi pres ne a to je obrovska uleva. Tudiz - bydlela jsem na koleji, asi tak 1km od univerzity a snad krome absence trouby me nenapada nic, na co bych si mohla stezovat.

Navstivila jsem se vetsi nemecka mesta i bavorska mestecka v okoli.
Skamaradila jsem se zde take se skupinkou nemeckych pratel, diky kterym jsem dostala jedinecnou prilezitost - a to poprve v zivote jsem se podivala do USA :)

V Rege studuji lide z celeho sveta, setkani s odlisnimi kulturami me velmi obohatilo a rozsirilo obzory. Tim ze studuji Germanistiku, tak jsem si krome nemeckych seminaru uzivala i moznost kontaktu s rodilymi mluvcimi v prirozenych situacich.

Pro mou introvertni dusi byly nektere socialni akce velmi narocne. Predevsim na zacatku. Pote jsem si nasla par pratel, se kterymi jsem rada travila cas.

Regensburg je srdecni zalezitost. Je prakticke, ze je tak blizko od ceskych hranic. Ceska a bavorska kultura neni zasedne odlisna, proto jsem se zde citila jako doma. Zaroven zde muze clovek potkat lidi z celeho sveta a mnohe se priucit.
