about university
What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
The Istituto Affari Internazionali is a well established Italian think tank, the main in Italy and one of the most important in Europe dealing with security and defence topics. The team I worked with was amazing and they really helped me develop teamworking skills. The office is not too big and I didn't have an allocated desk, but there was usually space for everybody. I uded my personal laptop as they didn't provide any equipment.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
Interns support all members of the Defence and Security tema working with multiple colleagues. I would recommend this internship to other students. Although, it would have been far better if the traineeship would have last for 6 months instead of 3. The tasks you would receive would be different and you would be able to really get involved in the research projects.
What is student life like at university?
N/A
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
We spoke Italian and English. Fluency in English required.

about the city
What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
Rome is a very busy city and public transportation is terrible, it might be challenging to get around the city. However, Rome is amazing, there's endless things to see and places to visit.
about finances
In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
Cost of life there is not too high. The scholarship would cover probably 50-75% of your expenses depending on where you get your accommodation.
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?

about accommodation
What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
I went for a University College of Merit. Reach out to them in Rome, they might offer you a room for a cheap price or even for free
about experiences
Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
final rating
Why here? What makes this location special? Why would you send your friends to your country/city?
live-saving tips
If I went again, I would definitely remember to pack...
Reusable water bottles

Before leaving, I would like to know that...
In Rome there are a lot of fountains with drinkable water. Buying plastic water bottles is just expensive and useless.
What surprised me most was that...

The hardest thing for me was...
