Málo přednášek, mnohem více samostudia.

Hodně mezinárodních studentů, spolků, hodně společenského života a aktivit.

Angličtina je zde naprosto dostačující, holandštinu jsem nikdy nikde nepotřebovala.

What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
Mezinárodní, rušné, živé. Má svou atmosféru. Je zde ale hodně turistů, obzvlášť o víkendech. Zároveň je ale město poměrně malé a útulné a dá se odtud dobře cestovat po Nizozemí. Mé oblíbené místo byla studentská kavárna CREA, kde nabízí pro studenty i různé kurzy, kino Kriterion s kavárnou, pekárna Saint Jean a vegetariánská restaurace Vegan Junkfood.

Špatně, jelikož je v Amsterdamu ubytovací krize, pokrylo mi pouze nájem a to jsem bydlela daleko od centra a školy. Ceny tu jsou vysoké, obzvlášť za dopravu a jídlo v restauracích.
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
Pronajmout si kolo ve Swapfiets a jezdit na kole. Zaplatit si Museumkaart, která zajišťuje vstup do většiny muzeí. A pokud rádi chodí do kina, tak si zaplatit Cinevile kartu, se kterou je volný vstup do několika kin po celém Nizozemí.

Lieven de Key, koleje speciálně pro mezinárodní studenty, docela drahé, ale na místní poměry ještě dobré.

Doporučuju navštívit města jako Utrecht a Haag.

Jazyk není vůbec potřeba, v Amsterdamu se mluví více anglicky než holandsky.

UvA doporučuji lidem, kteří se umí učit sami a které baví číst akademické texty. Amsterdam jako takový je dobrý pro lidi, kteří mají rádi noční život.
