about university
What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
The university was really organized, they arranged lot's of events for the student's with food and to integrate all the erasmus students.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
In the case of the french university method, they have an specific methodology when writing essays or making presentations. And there were mostly oral exams in the case of erasmus students. The lectures are around 2 hours and some Travaux diriges classes that are more personal with 20 people maximum and the professor.
What is student life like at university?
There are student associations of every faculty and the the ESN which is an organization that organizes events for Erasmus students. There was an elective that i took and it was about the political life of france. The university has many sports that you can join however there were not sports events.
Did you study in English or in the language of the host country? What language requirements does the university have?
The university doesn't require you a high level of french however I used only french all the time.

about the city
What was your impression of the city? How would you describe it? What is interesting to see here?
It's really calm, student friendly and there lot's of places like St Emilion or the dune of pilat where you can see the dessert or the wine castles. There are also really pretty beaches and Paris which is two hours by train from Bordeaux.
about finances
In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
France is an expensive country in my opinion, however only the accomodation was expensive for me.There was also a food distribution of an organization which helped you with the expenses of the food.
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
You can use the colis alimentaire of linkee in Bordeaux where you can sign up and they will give you some food each week.

about accommodation
What type of accommodation did you choose? Would you recommend it to others? If not, what type of accommodation do you think is best based on your experience (dormitory, private apartment, private dormitory, shared room, etc.)?
The best accomodation is the dorms , they are really well equiped. However I chose a shared room which was nice but kind of expensive.
about experiences
Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
I visited portugal and Spain.I really recommend these two countries.
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
I didn-t have cultural differences and the language was a bit hard sometimes to express myself but the people help you in some way to explain yourself.I have made a lot of progress.
final rating
Why here? What makes this location special? Why would you send your friends to your country/city?
I would recommend to improve their language skills and to get to live the french culture and traditions.
live-saving tips
If I went again, I would definitely remember to pack...
some souvenirs from my country to give as a gift to the people that you meet.

Before leaving, I would like to know that...
I should be aware if there is a place in the dorms or if I should start looking for a shared room
What surprised me most was that...
all the free event's and social benefits that the university has for student's.

The hardest thing for me was...
finding the accomodation close to the university
