The University of Liverpool is a famous and hisotrical insitution in the UK. It ahs a lovely campus, with many bulidings, canteens, gyms and green spaces. The classrooms are usually big and spatious.
Co tě první napadne, když pomyslíš na svou "adoptivní" univerzitu. Čím byla výjimečná? Jak vypadaly prostory ve kterých jsi studoval(a) a univerzitní vybavení?
Professors are usually nice and helpful, alwayse open to answer student's questions. The maangement is clear and it works very well. The exam period was also fine, everything was clearly defined and determined.
Jak vypadá studentský život na univerzitě?
There are many elective classes and you can pick those ones that help you to discover the history and culture of the place. University ogranises many activities for students, like sports, daytrips, Chrsitmas dinners and many other.
Studoval(a) jsi v angličtině, nebo v jazyce hostitelské země? Jaké požadavky jsou v oblasti jazyka kladeny univerzitou?
Since in the UK I only used English, a B" proficency level is required.

Jak na tebe město působilo? Jak byste jej charakterizoval/a? Co je zde zajímavého k vidění?
The city is quite big even if not the largest metropoly. It ahs a rich history and you can notice it wherever you go. Moreover hosts two historical football teams, Liverpool and Everton, which makes it even more unique. The city is also the hometown of the Beatles and the population is very proud of it. However the city suffered a big economic crises since the '80 and this is still visible today.

The city is not the most expensive one, however you have to be abit careful how you spend your money because you can run out of it.

Since Liverpool is a university city there are many student deals, and you can work it out what is more convenient where. Shops like Asda, Lidl and Aldi are usually cheaper than Tesco and Sainsbury's.

Jaké ubytování sis zvolil(a)? Doporučil(a) bys jej ostatním? A pokud ne, jaká varianta ubytování je podle Tvých zkušeností nejlepší (kolej, ubytování v soukromém bytě, soukromá kolej, sdílený pokoj a podobně...)?
I did have a private accomodation which in the end was cheaper than the dormitory option. However it was a bit far away but at least in Anfield where the Liverpool stadium is.
o zážitcích
Využil(a) jsi Erasmu k cestování po tvé zemi/Evropě? Jaké jsou tvoje nejlepší cestovatelské zážitky? Co naopak nedoporučuješ?
UK and especially the north-western part of the country where Liverpool is, has a big and well developed railway system, and therefore travelling to cities like Manchester, Chester and Leeds it's quite easy. Howver the train tickets can be quite expensive and also the public transport in Liverpool itself it's not the best.
Jazyk a kultura: jakých kulturních odlišností jste si všiml/a? Jak jste se vypořádával/a s národním jazykem? Byl to i jazyk vašeho studia? Máte pocit, že jste se v jazyce díky pobytu posunul/a?
Liverpudians have a very strong accent, and therefore for a non native can be abit difficult to understand. However they are super friendly and welcoming and this helps a lot. Liverpool can seem harsh at the beginning but at the end is a very sepcial place.

Liverpool is a very intresting city, has lot of history and a unique culture. The University offers many possibilites to enjoy your stay as well as the city itself.
