One-Month Scholarship Opportunities in German Universities for PhD Students
PhD students (with the exception of the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy) are invited to apply for scholarships offered by partner universities in Germany for the academic year 2025/2026.
Offered Scholarships:
Universität zu Köln
- 1 one-month-long scholarship for PhD students – 1300 EUR/month
- 1 one-month-long scholarship for academics – 2000 EUR/month
Universität Hamburg
- 4 one-month-long scholarships for PhD students – 1300 EUR/month
- 6 one-month-long scholarships for academics – 2000 EUR/month
Universität Heidelberg
- 1 one-month-long scholarship for PhD students – 1300 EUR/month
- Universität Bonn
- 2 one-month-long scholarships for PhD students – 1200 EUR/month
- 1 one-month-long scholarship for academics – 2000 EUR/month
Universität Regensburg
- 1 one-month-long scholarship for PhD students – 1300 EUR/month – only for the field of Analytical chemistry at the Faculty of Science
Required documents include:
- Completed Academic visitor application (download file here)
- CV in German or in English
- Motivation letter in German or in English (only for PhD students)
- Preliminary promise of admission by a teacher from a partner university (invitation letter for academics)
- Transcript of records from previous studies including the grade point average
- Personal data consent (download file here)
Application deadline:
- Upload all documents to the online application system by 8th December 2025

Online Winter School: Future Foresight: Developing Applied Strategic Foresight Competencies
The Winter School 2026 - Developing Applied Strategic Foresight Competencies organized by the Faculty of Organizational Studies in Novo mesto, Slovenia through its International Transdisciplinary Research Centre LEAD (‘Leadership Excellence and Development’) and Academic Research Centre (‘ARC’) is offered to all students who wish to acquire knowledge in the field of strategic foresight and gain ECTS credits.
Volatility, AI acceleration, climate risk, and shifting demographics are changing skills required for future readiness. This intensive six session program equips participants to scan for change, build scenarios, test strategies, and lead future-ready initiatives aligned with global skills outlooks. This Winter School 2026 – Applied Strategic Foresight Competencies is delivered both by academics and industry experts.
The Winter School: Future Foresight enables participants to:
- understand the frameworks and processes underpinning strategic foresight and futures thinking.
- identify and analyze trends, drivers, and weak signals using advanced AI-powered foresight tools.
- map and model divergent future scenarios that support strategic planning and innovation.
- design and test actionable strategies aligned with emerging futures based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- collaborate and network with foresight professionals, innovators, and researchers across sectors.
- apply foresight tools to develop resilient, future-ready strategies within their organizational context.
Duration: 6 sessions in February and March of four (4) hours each:
- February 19th, 20th, March 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 10th from 4 PM to 8 PM CET.
Delivery method: synchronous online
Fee:
- Early bird registration by December 2 2025 fee: 399€ attendance for participants who wish to listen - audit.
- Early bird registration by December 2 2025 fee: 529€ for participants completing final assignments (passed).

- Regular registration by January 15 2026 fee: 549€ attendance for participants who wish to listen - audit.
- Regular registration by January 15 2026 fee: 679€ for participants completing final assignments (passed).

BIP Research Excellence International – for Doctoral Candidates & Academic Mentors
The “Research Excellence & International Collaboration” Blended Intensive Program (BIP) offers an in-depth exploration of research design, academic networking, and strategies for achieving excellence in international scientific cooperation. Participants will engage in mentoring sessions, interactive workshops, and group projects aimed at strengthening their research competences and international collaboration skills. The program fosters interdisciplinary dialogue, promotes the quality and visibility of research, and helps participants develop ideas for future joint projects and publications.
Participants are expected to cover the costs of their stay from their own sources (Erasmus+ grant).
Dates:
- Physical component: 2–6 February 2026
- Virtual component: to be announced
Location: University of Bielsko-Biala
Target group:
- Early-stage PhD students from all academic disciplines
- Academics and researchers willing to join as mentors to guide doctoral students during the BIP
Funding: Participation may be supported by Erasmus+ staff mobility grants; interested applicants should consult their home institution’s international office.

MCI Innsbruck Winter Program – with Reduced Fees
This February, the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) will host its Winter Program, offering international students the chance to earn ECTS credits in business, technology, and innovation – all in the heart of the Austrian Alps.
Participants will:
- take engaging academic courses taught by MCI experts,

- enjoy winter activities like skiing and exploring Innsbruck.
