What made your university special? What were the facilities where you studied and the university equipment like?
Univerzita je na kampusu, který známe z filmů ("vesnice" uprostřed města s budovami jak z Harryho Pottera, velkýma knihovnama, kavárnama, restauracema, barama apod.)
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
Rozdíl je v tom, že v Manchesteru si nepřipadáte v nižší pozici. Učitelé s vámi jednají jako se sobě rovnými a je to více o diskuzi a kritickém myšlení (ne o memorování). Občas jsem si na hodinách připadal spíše jako na nějakém volnějším kurzu než na vysoké škole (což ale nemyslím špatně, naopak to budilo příjemnou atmosféru)
What is student life like at university?
U nás se do spolků sdružuje spíše menšina studentů a to ještě musejí být zapálení do akademického života. V Manchesteru je to jinak, každý je členem nějakého spolku - turistického, běžeckého, kuchařského, fotbalového, lezeckého apod.

Popravdě město jako takové nebylo moc zajímavé. Je to v Anglii, takže je to jiné, ale nic extra. Zároveň mi tam ale nic nechybělo, stěžovat si nemůžu.

In your experience, how far does the scholarship go? What percentage of your expenses did it cover? What is your opinion on prices in the country in general?
V Anglii je draho, Manchester je jedno z center, takže se plácnete přes kapsu. Záleží ale na tom, jak chcete svůj čas trávit (není nutné si dávat každý den točené pivko v přepočtu za 120 korun).
Please advise your classmates on how to save money—Where to shop? What services can be used to save money?
Záleží, kde budete bydlet, ale já jsem si hned na začátku koupil "lítačku" na MHD, což už bych asi neudělal. Není to nutné, dá se leckde dojít pěšky nebo dojet na kole a když nelze jinak, lístek se dá vždy koupit u řidiče. Co se týče jídla, snažte se vařit, nic složitého, ale rybí prsty do trouby prostě vyjdou daleko levněji než bufety na kampusu

Kolej. Je sice dražší než byty a vybavení je mizerné, ale každý student má svůj vlastní pokoj a pro socializaci je to k nezaplacení.

Hlavní motivace pro mě byla angličtina a tu bych asi taky zpětně hodnotil jako to nejlepší, co jsem tam zažil. Super je ale také haf kamarádů, které si najdete. A dobrých kamarádů.
