Univerzita v Glasgow je nejhezčí univerzita, kterou jsem kdy viděl a celý kampus je velmi moderní.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your "adoptive" university? What made it special? What were the premises where you studied and the university facilities like?
Styl výuky mi vyhovoval více než na naší univerzitě. Studenti jsou více vedeni k samostatné práci a během semestru je mnohem více práce. Zkoušky jsou formou esejí.
What is student life like at university?
Univerzita nabízí nespočet studentských spolků. Například já jsem se přidal do surfařského klubu. Erasmus student network organizuje spoustu seznamovacích akcí.

Veškerá komunikace probíhala v angličtině, požadována byla minimálně B2.

Glasgow na mě působí jako rušné studentské město, i když místy trochu špinavé, ale všichni zahraniční si ho zamilovali. Nejhezčí část města je určitě West End, kde se nachází univerzita.

Stipendium mi nestačilo ani na ubytování, řekl bych, že mi pokrylo tak 1/3 nákladů na bydlení ve Skotsku.

Nejlevnější obchody - Lidl a Aldi. Je spousta míst, kde lze využít studentské slevy, ale nejvýhodnější je si vařit doma jak jen to jde.

Bydlel jsem v Airbnb, protože se mi nepodařilo najít nic jiného, ale všem bych doporučil studentské byty, které jsou většinou v blízkosti školy - já musel jezdit do školy metrem.

Did you use Erasmus stay to travel around your country/Europe? What are your best travel experiences? What would you not recommend?
Skotsko je nádherná země, doporučuji cestovat co to jen jde. Vlaky jsou dost drahé, ale za 30 liber je možné zařídit si Scotrail card, které nabízí o 1/3 levnější jízdenky.
Language and culture: what cultural differences did you notice? How did you cope with the national language? Was it also the language of your studies? Do you feel that your language skills improved during your stay?
Určitě se mi zlepšila angličtina, protože jsem ji musel denně používat. Skotský přízvuk mě na zažátku trochu vyděsil, ale člověk si zvykne a většinu času stejně pak tráví s ostatními exchange studenty.

Škola organizovala spoustu výletů a akcí, které velmi zjednodušily poznávání nových lidí. Moto Glasgow je "people make glasgow" - lidi jsou tam hrozně milí.
