SustainMV – the summer school on sustainability – will take place this year for the sixth time. In the last five years it has welcomed over 1000 participants in the online format and nearly 120 on-site in the past four years. Over 60 different speakers presented their scientific perspective on sustainability. This year’s focus topic is: Coastal Futures – Building Sustainability on Regional Potential.

This one of a kind event is jointly organised by the Higher Education Institutions of our region, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The overarching theme is Sustainability in the fields of Tourism, Renewable Energies, Digital & Technological Innovations, Recycling & Waste Management, Ecosystems and Social Sustainability, showcasing opportunities for transformation through science and education for a sustainable future. The goal is to present north-east Germany as the fantastic location for sustainability education, research and business that it is.

• Online: August 18th – August 20th 2026
• On-site: August 24th – September 4th 2026

Location: Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Application Deadline: 2 April, 2026

Target Group:

• Preferably international Bachelor (advanced) as well as Master Students in any sustainability related subject area.

Fees and Expenses:

• Online programme: free of charge
• On-site programme: tuition and accommodation are covered.
• A registration fee of 150 € will be charged after successful application.
