Summer School: “Human Rights in Theory and Practice” on-site in Dresden // online for €50
This year’s theme, “Navigating Change – Contemporary Perspectives on Human Rights,” will explore how current global challenges affect the human rights system. In a rapidly changing world, developments such as the accelerating effects of climate change, emerging public health threats despite medical improvement or the unwarranted use of artificial intelligence pose unprecedented threats. These challenges could not have been foreseen when the International Bill of Human Rights was drafted, resulting in a conflict between evolving societal needs and the existing normative framework.
Participants can expect a diverse five-day program ranging from inspiring and interactive lectures by renowned speakers to modern formats such as coffee talks and interdisciplinary panel discussions. This will be complemented by a variety of evening activities and an interactive final format in which the newly acquired knowledge can be applied in a hands-on conference. There is also the opportunity to earn university credits (5 ECTS) by completing a final exam.
We are honoured to announce the participation of renowned speakers such as Prof. Dr. Geir Ulfstein (University of Oslo), Prof. Dr. Veronika Bílková (Charles University, Member of the Venice Commission), Prof. Dr. Ian Fry (former UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights in the context of climate change) and many

Summer Course: Expanding the Louvre: A History of Museum Growth in Paris
Thirty years after the “Grand Louvre” and the creation of Pei’s Pyramid, the “Nouvelle Renaissance” now carries this history forward, raising fundamental questions: does a museum remain vital by expanding, or does expansion ultimately challenge its very nature? Rereading the Louvre’s trajectory through a critical examination of museum growth offers a deeper understanding of how expansion has shaped, and continues to shape, its message.
Aimed at the widest possible audience, the Summer Courses offer a collection of thematic series on topics in archaeology, art history, social history and even anthropology, reflecting current events in museums, exhibitions and research.
Number of Available Places: 2x on-site (Paris, France) and 4x online (replay till August 31).
Date: July 7-11, 2025
Application Deadline: July 5, 2025
