In this international and interdisciplinary summer school, we will bring participants including students, teachers, researchers, and educational practitioners together and present them with the opportunity to engage with various researchers and practitioners. Participants will learn about and engage with current debates and research insights addressing effective teaching, teaching for the future. They will work together in mixed and diverse groups discussing the state-of-the-art of effective teaching from research and practice perspectives.

Topics addressed in the summer school will include:

• Conceptualizing effective teaching.
• Identifying effective teaching, including characteristics, antecedents, and correlates.
• Measuring effective teaching, including common methods for assessing effective teaching such as value-added models, peer evaluation, student, teacher, and parent ratings. Attention will also be paid to quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods for assessing effective teaching
• Promoting effective teaching, including research and practice on teacher professional development.
• Digital technology and artificial intelligence for effective teaching
• Affordances and challenges related to conceptualizations, measurements, methodologies, and the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence.

• €150 for University of Groningen students and partner universities. Possibility of a waiver can be discussed between partner universities.

Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) invites doctoral (PhD) students to participate in the 9th International PhD Summer School, that will take place on 2-6 June, 2025 in a seaside resort city Palanga, Lithuania. The Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki welcomes you to the 10th International Summer School: Medical Law and Bioethics “Beyond the human: environmental and animal health/Bioethical issues”, a 42-hours course which will take place in hybrid format (on-site and remotely via ZOOM platform).

The aim is to approach each issue in an interdisciplinary way, combining the findings of Law and Medical Science with Bioethics, so as to illuminate all aspects of crucial issues that concern not only the scientific community, but also everyday life. The program is conducted in English in order to enable the participation of stakeholders from abroad with the aim of discussing and analyzing these issues not only nationally but also internationally.
