Who Can Apply?

• International students studying medicine or related sciences (typically in their 2nd or 3rd year of undergraduate studies)
• Must be at least 19 years old on the program’s start date
• Proficient in English and be able to engage in an academic setting

What can you expect?

• The program consists of a package of two courses, each course comprising approximately 39 hours of class time.
• Students will learn from experienced faculty, clinicians, investigators and scientists.
• Classes are highly interactive and may include group discussions, guest lecturers, workshops, research projects, laboratory experiments, and field trips.
• As the Faculty of Medicine takes a distributed approach to education, some students can expect to travel to different hospitals or clinical sites for classes or experiential learning, such as an ultrasound biopsy simulation workshop.
• Students may be responsible for the cost of public transit when attending classes off-UBC campus and participating in field trips.

Univerzita v Sussexu opět pořádá letní výzkumný program a nabízí místo pro studenta Univerzity Karlovy. Jedná se o program na podporu talentovaných a ambiciózních studentů, kteří mohou v létě provádět výzkum pod dohledem v Sussexu.

Studenti jsou zváni k práci na osmitýdenním projektu, což jim dává příležitost spolupracovat s významnými vědeckými pracovníky a rozvíjet neocenitelné akademické dovednosti a sítě. Výběrové řízení bude dvoukolové, první kolo proběhne na úrovni jednotlivých fakult, všechny dokumenty proto prosím posílejte svému fakultnímu koordinátorovi. Fakulta nominuje jednoho studenta. Z nominovaných kandidátů vybere komise jednoho studenta a jednoho náhradníka.

Součástí programu nejsou kredity ECTS.

Studying in the heart of Europe, students take courses on Business in Europe including European Economic Policies with a focus on sustainability. A number of courses are taught by guest faculty from around the world. The courses are complemented by a variety of corporate visits, previous visits have included: European Parliament, Council of Europe, Mercedes-Benz, Weberhaus.

Course description:

Students follow both modules in the Summer School program. Both modules will have a focus on sustainability.

Module 1: Business in Europe

(42 contact hours, equivalent to 3 US credit hours/6 ECTS credits)

• Intercultural Management & Eco-literacy: Bridging the Cultural Gap
• Sustainable Marketing in Europe
• Logistics in Europe

Module 2: European Economy and Policies

(42 contact hours, equivalent to 3 US credit hours/6 ECTS credits)

• SMEs in Europe
• European Economic Integration

Students must be nominated by their International Relations Coordinator who will send their students nominations by March 15th, 2025 to EM Strasbourg Business School’s International Office.

• Undergraduate level (at least 1 year of university studies)
• Basic knowledge in Business and/or Economics
