o univerzitě
Čím byla tvá univerzita výjimečná? Jak vypadaly prostory ve kterých jsi studoval(a) a univerzitní vybavení?
They were very kind. Really helpful, Uniqueness came from quite a lot of young teachers, which led to varying standard of teaching. Some extremely good some questionable. Also it was nice to have an option to study outside my basic field of study which let me see new interests. The spaces where I was studying were varied with some building extremely new and some similar age as in Prague city center.
Co tě první napadne, když pomyslíš na svou "adoptivní" univerzitu. Čím byla výjimečná? Jak vypadaly prostory ve kterých jsi studoval(a) a univerzitní vybavení?
As in Prague lot depends on individual teachers. Some teachers were the best and kindest I’ve ever met, some were below standard and quite uninterested. I’d say that while Tallinn had higher highs in terms of teacher, it also had lower lows. Other than that everything was relatively similar and one got used to it quite quickly. The staff was also very helpful with any questions
Jak vypadá studentský život na univerzitě?
There was quite a lot of subjects that introduce Estonian culture and language. In terms of parties the scene is quite vibrant and easy to navigate, but more specialized social activities depend heavily on individual hosts and are mainly without university organization as private groups or private events in the city itself
Studoval(a) jsi v angličtině, nebo v jazyce hostitelské země? Jaké požadavky jsou v oblasti jazyka kladeny univerzitou?
English and the requirement is B2 level. Estonian isn’t really necessary as you will mostly live with Erasmus students who use English, but Estonian or Russian is very helpful in daily life
o městě
Jak na tebe město působilo? Jak byste jej charakterizoval/a? Co je zde zajímavého k vidění?
It is calm and student-friendly. Surprisingly cosmopolitan while keeping peace and quiet. The city center is really pretty and I adores the port that one can spend hours in just watching the water. The sea in general is amazing there. It is relatively similar size to Brno but Tallinn is more lively and cosmopolitan.
o financích
Jak lze podle Tvojí zkušenosti vyjít se stipendiem? Kolik procent výdajů Vám pokrylo? Jaký je Váš názor na ceny v zemi obecně?
Scholarship is not enough and Estonia is surpassingly quite expensive. The accommodation is ok but food will cost a lot. It is important to have some money of your own. It is also possible to find a job there. Especially as a part timer in costumer support
Poraď prosím spolužákům, jak ušetřit - Kde nakupovat? Jaké služby lze v rámci úspory financí využívat?
If you can shop at Lidl or local markets. Cook at the dorm and share as much as you can inside the dorm or with friends at other accommodation
o ubytování
Jaké ubytování sis zvolil(a)? Doporučil(a) bys jej ostatním? A pokud ne, jaká varianta ubytování je podle Tvých zkušeností nejlepší (kolej, ubytování v soukromém bytě, soukromá kolej, sdílený pokoj a podobně...)?
Dorms. The newer rooms are quite nice but the older ones are not. Fight for the new rooms. Also people there really enjoy to party, so if that is not your style you might feel like you don’t have your private space. Also there is no one bed option at the dorm. They are also often multi gender so at the same 8 bed apartment with two bathrooms will be 4 boys and 4 girls. I think dorms are the best option, but don’t have much experience with private apartments
o zážitcích
Využil(a) jsi Erasmu k cestování po tvé zemi/Evropě? Jaké jsou tvoje nejlepší cestovatelské zážitky? Co naopak nedoporučuješ?
I didn’t sadly, but almost everyone I met traveled to other Baltic states and Finland. The trip is wonderful and it is a lot of fun. Also I was able to participate in a trip to Laponia which was one of my lifetime highlights
Jazyk a kultura: jakých kulturních odlišností jste si všiml/a? Jak jste se vypořádával/a s národním jazykem? Byl to i jazyk vašeho studia? Máte pocit, že jste se v jazyce díky pobytu posunul/a?
English and the requirement is B2 level. Estonian isn’t really necessary as you will mostly live with Erasmus students who use English, but Estonian or Russian is very helpful in daily life
závěrečné hodnocení
Proč právě sem? V čem je lokalita výjimečná? Proč bys své kamarády do své země/ města poslal/a ty?
